I love all the mental footnotes that are triggered when you read these rules. The "Independent" definition makes me wonder what is meant by "who is not themselves a craft brewer" in an era where so many larger craft celebrity "brewers" are frontmen or CEOs or something else.
It's an interesting contrast! They never even get round to asking whether everything a craft brewer makes is craft beer, and if not, why not - I guess that would be a whole new can of worms.
PS Oi, BeerAdvocate! Over here! (Yesterday I had 400+ visits from BA and half as many from Reddit; judging from what's on those sites, they were mostly from grumpy craft beer fans. Fortunately only about three of them bothered to leave comments.)
